Time is always tight for entrepreneurs. Here are some applications that can help organize your team.

Every new phone and laptop on the market comes with promises of effortless multitasking, but in the age of digital distraction, focus is a luxury. These five apps will help get productivity rolling by organizing your work day so you can concentrate on only the most important tasks at hand.

Asana

Asana is hands down one of my favorite apps to use for project management. The easy to use interface allows for every segment of a project to be broken down. Asana uses a simple list layout. Tasks are assigned to team members, with due dates, and can be checked off when done. Documents and files can be directly uploaded to the platform for the whole team to see. Asana also has a board layout which facilitates virtual brainstorming sessions. Ideas can be added, moved under different categories, and expanded on in detail.

It has both desktop and mobile versions so you can always take a quick scan on the go to see how your project timeline is coming along.

Slack

On Slack you can share channels with companies and businesses you regularly work with – like clients, vendors, and partners. You can choose to talk to them together or in separate messages. You can also make video and voice calls directly through Slack. If you need to share your work, screen share is an option as well.

There are over 15,000 apps you can integrate with Slack including Asana. Slack protects your data with two factor authentication and complies with various security standards, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and HIPAA. These measures allow you to share videos, photos, and documents through your account without hesitation.

Toggl

Toggl is a great time tracker. The app available for mobile and desktop tracks your time while your browser’s closed and even offline. It syncs whenever you are connected to the internet, so your time logs stay safely in one place.

The app uses the data it collects to break down which tasks are consuming the most time. Get the big picture of where your hours are going, tweak your work accordingly and get more time for life. This is particularly useful for freelancers, who often bill by the hour.

RescueTime

To really save you from distraction RescueTime can show you which sites you spend the most time on. Each week you will receive a report of which sites you browse, how frequently and for how long. Activities are automatically grouped into pre-defined categories with built-in productivity scores covering thousands of websites and applications.

You can set goals for yourself and see your progress in your dashboard each week. Since using this app I’ve cut down my time checking Twitter from five hours to one hour.

Organize your tasks, lists and reminders in one easy to-do app. Todoist syncs seamlessly across all of your devices, making your to-do list accessible everywhere.

You can build habits through recurring due dates like “every Tuesday” and stay on track with Todoist karma points, streaks, and levels. You can map out your project timelines with project sections and subtasks. Tasks can be color coded according to priority. The best part is that Todoist works with several different apps including Google Maps, Dropbox, Slack, Toggl, and even Amazon Alexa.
